Screening for Plagiarism

The Journal of Research in English Language and Linguistics (JRELL) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity. To ensure the originality and authenticity of all submissions, JRELL routinely uses a rigorous plagiarism screening process.

Plagiarism Detection Tools

JRELL utilizes advanced plagiarism detection tools to identify any instances of plagiarism in submitted manuscripts. These tools include:

  • Turnitin: A comprehensive plagiarism detection software that checks submissions against a vast database of academic sources (max 20%)
  • Grammarly: A writing tool that includes a plagiarism detection feature to identify potential instances of plagiarism.

Plagiarism Screening Process

All submissions to JRELL undergo a thorough plagiarism screening process, which involves:

  1. Initial Screening: The submitted manuscript is routinely checked for plagiarism using Turnitin and Grammarly.
  2. Editorial Review: The manuscript is reviewed by the editorial team to ensure that it meets JRELL's editorial standards.
  3. Peer Review: The manuscript is reviewed by peer reviewers to assess its academic merit and originality.

Consequences of Plagiarism

Any instances of plagiarism detected during the screening process will result in:

  • Immediate Rejection: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author will be notified of the plagiarism detection.
  • Ban from Publication: Repeat offenders may be banned from publishing in JRELL for a specified period.
